In yet another signature collaboration, Shivacult lends his voice to the minimal atmospheric production of Barasingha to give this 15th century hindu devotional hymn set in Raga Kharaharapriya, the modern Drum & Bass treatment.
Verse:
Okapari Kokapari Oiyyaaramai
Mokhamuna Kalalella Molachinatlunde
Translation:
Time and again (“okapari- kokapari”),
when the Lord is gracefully walking (“oiyyaaramai”),
it seems that in his face (“mokhamuna”),
many beautiful rays (“kalalella”)
have sprouted (“molachi”)
and existed thus (“natlunde”)
Following in the tradition of sound system music, the vocal a-side is accompanied by a dub - but in the style of Brazilian Bossa Nova.
The release is accompanied by a video, shot and edited by Shivacult himself during his travels through Ireland in the summer of 2019 when this project was conceived.

This release marks another attempt by the two musicians at marrying the purity of Carnatic (South Indian Classical) music with the precision of modern bass music, packaged in a refreshing aesthetic.
